Food TV we like – A Cook Abroad

Looking for a little post-holiday down time TV?  Maybe a little in the kitchen inspiration while you recover from house guests? Chief Food Officers has a TV show for you check out: A Cook Abroad.

We have been streaming this off Netflix for a few weeks and have really taken to it. There really is nothing quite like watching Tony Singh and his incredibly thick Scottish accent head home to Punjab. The show itself follows a pretty simple premise where a well-known chef heads somewhere that inspires him or her.  In the Singh episode the show follows him back to his roots in Punjab to see where he grew up.  For other chefs in the series it focuses on places that inspire them, places like Egypt or Peru.

The show itself has an almost “Parts Unknown” feel to it the way the chefs travel, converse with the camera, and experience the places they are being filmed in.  I’d highly recommend adding A Cook Abroad to your Netflix queue for the next time you need a good distraction or want to watch some Food TV.
